Mag. Daniel Cronin is a passionate marketer and public speaker. He studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business where he qualified with a Masters in Economics & Social Science. He wrote his thesis on Mobile Marketing and in 2011 became a founding member of the full-service app-agency “all about apps”, where he was Head of Marketing. Daniel is Co-Founder and Member of the Board of AustrianStartups and lectures Mobile Business and Marketing at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg. He presented the show “2Minuten, 2Millionen – die PULS4 Startup-Show” on national TV. Daniel has also hosted many events and panels including Startup Week 2011, Pioneers Festival 2012 & 2013 as well as the World Business Dialogue and the EBAN Annual Congress, both in 2013.
Mag. Florian Glatt-Wodzynski is marketing consultant with a double focus on management accounting and innovation. He has a proven track record of over 15 years across the whole value chain. His last responsibility was as country Marketing Manager for the Austrian subsidiary of an international healthcare company. Previously, he performed in marketing and management accounting for IT companies (Oracle and IBM), as well as in Life Sciences (Boehringer Ingelheim, JnJ). Florian’s area of expertise spans from quantitative strategy including developing the business model, targeting and pricing to execution by developing targets, KPIs, initiatives and automation. Clients value his holistic approach to measure rigorously marketing efforts for effectiveness and efficiency – following the rationale that you can only manage what you can measure. Florian graduated with a double degree CEMS Master from HEC Paris and the Vienna University for Economics and Business. He lives in Vienna and is fluent in French, English and German.
Michael Nouri, MA was born in 1961 in Vienna and completed his education in Austria and USA. He was working as creative director in Vienna, New York and Shanghai. He supervised projects, among others for Erste Bank, T-Mobile, Vontobel and Expo Shanghai. He is the founder and managing partner of cdc | Brandcreation. His activities include positioning, intercultural communication, brand identity and communication design. He has teaching experience as lecturer at the University of Vienna/ Journalism (Branding since 2006) and giving various other lectures (such as Shanghai University, Communication Design Dep.). He studied Communication Design at the Parson School of Design in NYC and did a Master at the Danube University Krems in Intercultural Studies.
Alex Pinter is co-founder of Trayn, a platform for strength and conditioning coaches to create fully individualized training programs for athletes faster and easier. It was officially launched in 2014 with selected professional sports teams in the US and Canada. Prior to that, he was a strategy consultant at Accenture for many years and worked with numerous international clients across Europe (main industry focus: consumer goods, retail, high-tech, and chemicals).
Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Markus Haslinger is professor of public law at Vienna University of Technology (Department of Law). Mr. Haslinger holds degrees from the Johannes Kepler University of Linz (JKU) law school (Mag.iur. et Dr. iur.). He has worked as scientific assistant at the Institute of Public International Law and International Relations and the Research Institute of European Law at JKU for 10 years. In 1995, Mr. Haslinger moved to Vienna University of Technology and has given the very first lectures on internet law all over Austria, from 1998 onwards. Since 2001, Markus Haslinger is a lecturer of media and copyright law at the University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg, too.
Dipl.-Ing. Bernhard Voith is a European patent and trademark attorney at Weiser & Voith Patentanwälte in Vienna. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from TU Wien. After a 10-year professional experience in engineering, sales and marketing in industrial automation and telecommunications industry in Austria, Switzerland, France, US and UK, he started working as a patent and license manager in the Austrian promotional environment. Bernhard Voith also studied European management at the Ashridge Business School as well as patent and license management at the Management Center Innsbruck. He lectured on “intellectual property rights” at the Medical University of Vienna, the University of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Vienna.
Walter Siebert has been a trainer and consultant for 25 years with core competence in cooperation, leadership and change management. He is specialized in experience based training and development and has been working for major companies in 28 countries. He is lecturer at the Universität Wien and Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien for cooperation and experiential learning.
Mag. Irene Schellner is coordinator of Trilateral and "IP5" projects at the European Patent Office (EPO). After completing her studies in Japanese at the University of Vienna, Irene Schellner joined the EPO in 1994 and worked as a Japanese and Asian patent information specialist. She carried out searches in Japanese patent databases and was in charge of the EPO's support service for European users of patent information from Japan and Asia. In January 2012, Irene joined the EPO's department for International Organisations, Trilateral and IP5 where she coordinates projects between the EPO and the patent offices of Japan, China, Korea and the USA.
Dr. Erich Prem, the CEO of eutema Technology Management GmbH, has a degree in informatics and a doctorate in technical sciences from Vienna University of Technology. He was a scientist at the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (OFAI) and at the AI Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT (USA). He is the author of more than 40 scientific publications. Dr. Prem has worked in many national and international research projects as a scientist or project leader. He also was the Austrian expert in the Information Society Technologies Committee of the EU and the programme manager for the Austrian ICT research program FIT-IT.
Stefan Kreppel is the start-up representative of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and responsible for the start-up related funding and financing schemes within this organisation. Moreover, he is an economical expert and strategical advisor for the entrepreneurial topic. Stefan has a Diploma in environmental engineering and a Master of Business Administration.
Univ.-Doz. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Michael Heiss is Principal for Open Innovation at Siemens and is responsible for Open Innovation Networks at Siemens globally. He studied Electrical Engineering in Vienna, made a post-doc at M.I.T., started his industry career at Bosch and is since 1996 with Siemens in various leading positions for Knowledge, Innovation and Technology Management. He is also Chair of the IEEE Technology Management Council, Chapter Central Europe.
Dr. Wolfgang Graf is an attorney-at-law in the Viennese law firm Graf Patsch Taucher. Mr. Graf holds degrees from the University of Vienna law school (Mag. iur. Dr. iur.) and the Pennsylvania State University (LL.M.). He is admitted to practice law both in Austria and N.Y. Mr. Graf specializes mainly in corporate and mergers & acquisitions. He is a lecturer at the University for Applied Sciences Wr. Neustadt and author of a book on data protection law and several articles on corporate law. Mr Graf is vice-president of the “Institute for Forensic Analysis”, a private institute analyzing capital market related publications and the prevention of business and capital markets related white collar crime.
Thomas Peruzzi founded aicooma in Austria, Switzerland and Germany and built it from scratch till earn-out in 2012. Albrecht Karlusch currently works as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department for Strategy and Innovation at Vienna University of Economics and Business. He teaches innovation-related courses for students from different universities, such as from business school, technical university or medical university. His research focuses on how the right intervention can effectively increase the outcomes of teams with interdisciplinary backgrounds. Besides his activities at university, Albrecht Karlusch is an experienced consultant for IT-related innovation projects and a reviewer in public funding programs. He was the CEO of a tech company for more than six years, wherein he was responsible for the financials, the shareholder management and international relationships. In his time the company raised more than EUR 2,5 millions, built up production capacities in Romania and agreed a license partnership with a company in the United States. Albrecht Karlusch holds a bachelor and master degree in Computer Science from Technical University of Vienna. He completed a professional MBA program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at Danube University Krems. He also completed additional study programs at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (Asia Business Program), Technical University Munich, Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Entrepreneurship Programs).
Chris Houghtaling currently is a marketing, sales and performance management expert with 25 plus years of empowering teams and individuals to reach results beyond their own expectations. His experiences range from high-tech, pharmaceutical to service sectors. He holds a dual MBA degree in International Business from the University of South Carolina, USA and the Business and Economics University of Vienna, Austria where he is a member of the International Alumni Board. Chris has been involved in finding new organizations and has also turned around several teams, raising them to high growth and profitability. In every position, Chris has focused on developing the people he worked with through an emphasis on coaching and consulting. Max Ditzel currently works as Acceleration Manager at WhatAVenture and is in charge of the setup and support of acceleration and incubation programs that guided more than 750 startups and 250 corporate innovation teams. Besides that he is responsible for the development and implementation of innovation strategies for leading companies in fields like energy, logistics and finance. His activities are mainly focusing on intrapreneurship, synergies between corporates and startups as well as open innovation around technologies. Dr. Hermann Hauser is an Austrian engineer, computer and venture capital entrepreneur living in Great Britain. He played a central role in the foundation of various enterprises in the British Silicon Valley (Silicon Fen) near Cambridge. As a student, Hauser attended a language school in Cambridge. He studied Physics at the University of Vienna (diploma degree) and in Cambridge, where he earned his PhD at the Cavendish Laboratory. He is probably most well-known for his contribution to the formation of Acorn with Chris Curry in 1978. The company developed personal computers in Great Britain, among others the BBC Micro, which was more successful than Apple in England in the 80’s and brought him the nickname "British Steve Jobs". Founded with only 100 pounds, the company’s stock market value was 200 million within five years. He co-founded the chip designer ARM, whose technology is in almost all smartphones and tablets and was the biggest competitor of Apple back then. Recently, the company was sold for 28 billion euros. He founded his companies in Cambridge and thus laid the cornerstone for the popularity of technology in this area and the foundation of the British Silicon Valley. Today, the Silicon Fen in Cambridge is a flourishing start-up cluster with 1,500 high-tech companies in the fields of software, electronics and biotechnology. Hermann Hauser also played a dominant role as a venture capitalist in space Cambridge. For this purpose, he founded in 1997 Amadeus Capital Partners to invest in technology companies at all stages. He is the engine of the I.E.C.T. Institute for Entrepreneurship Cambridge – Tirol and has become a figurehead of successful entrepreneurship.
After founding his first startup at 22 and winning multiple awards in Europe, Alberto made his way into working with a rapidly growing Y-Combinator company. At Close.io he now helps sales people all over the world increase their sales as a Sales Executive. Prof. Dr. Michael A. Cusumano received a B.A. degree from Princeton in 1976 and a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1984. Prof. Dr. Yves Pigneur is a Professor of Information Systems at HEC Lausanne, Switzerland. He has a doctoral degree from the University of Namur, Belgium. He has been a Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Lausanne since 1984 and has held visiting professorships at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He is the editor-in-chief of the academic journal "Systèmes d'information & mangement" (SIM). Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur authored the book "Business Model Generation: A handbook for visionaries, game changers and challengers."
Prof. Dr. Erik Proper is a Professor of information systems at the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He is also a senior research manager at the Public Research Centre - Henri Tudor in Luxembourg, where he leads the ASINE project on architecture-based service innovation. He has been a Professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen since 2002. Erik is driven by the desire to create theories that work. Therefore, he has always mixed his work in academia with work in industry by working for consultancy firms. He has also co-authored two books on enterprise architecture, and provided substantial contributions to two other books on this topic.
Dipl. Medienwirt Niels Mitschke studied media economics, development and planning at the University of Siegen (Germany). In 1992 he finished an apprenticeship as publisher and magazine seller at Axel Springer Verlags AG, Hamburg. Mr. Mitschke has been an Investment Manager for seven years and now he works for aws. His key activities are new media, print and online media, business development, high tech marketing, selling of products and services in need of explanation, e-business, e-commerce, evaluation of innovations, management of innovations, media planning, funding and financing.
Mag. rer. soc. oec. Bettina Paar studied economics at the University of Economics and Business in Vienna specialising in HR Management and devolopment. She has been working as the head of HR development for many years. At the moment she is in charge of recruiting and HR development at the Vienna International Airport. Since 1998 she has been working as a trainer and a lector for communications and personality competencies. In 2011 she completed her education to become supervisor, coach and consultant at the ÖAGG (Österreichischer Arbeitskreis für Gruppentherapie und Gruppendynamik).
Dominik Sinnreich is the founder and CEO of Newsroom GmbH- the first Owned Media company in Austria. He designs and produces content for corporations, NGOs, the public sector - and he consults these institutions on implementing corporate newsroom structures. He spent ten years in journalism, working for the Austrian daily „Kurier“ and the current affairs magazine „Report“ (ORF). Most recently, he was head of the politics desk of private TV station „PULS4“. Sinnreich teaches TV journalism and newsroom organization at FHWien University of Applied Sciences and PR for start-ups at APA Campus.

Mag. Karl Schiller is Head of the Department of Hightech Funding of aws, the Austrian Promotional Bank. He joined aws in 2002 and was in charge of the Seedfinancing Program since 2006. Seedfinancing provided initial funding for some of the most successful Austrian Start-Up companies. Prior to joining aws he gained professional experience in various High Tech Companies. He holds a Masters degree in Economics and Social Sciences and a degree in electronics from a technical highschool. He also serves as CEO of „uni venture Beteiligungs AG“ an Austrian Venture Capital Fund (vintage 2000) which has a focus on university Spin Offs. He was born in 1964 in Vienna, Austria.
Mag. Hannes Schwetz combines 7 years investment experience in early stage ICT companies with a 4 year background in the telecommunication industry. Since the end of 2010 he leads the department of "Creative Industries & Innovation" at aws, the federal Austrian Funding Bank. Mag. Schwetz holds a master degree in economics from the University of Graz and studied at the University of Reading (UK). He is a Certified European Financial Analyst as well as a telecommunications engineer. His main professional interests are start-ups, the creative industries and promoting entrepreneurship. Privately he is a passionate mountaineer and photographer.
Dipl.-Ing. Paul Ullmann is an Investment Manager & Systemic Coach at aws Austria. There he is responsible for high tech early stage investments, technological and business assessment of innovative business cases and star-ups respectively. Additionally, Mr. Ullmann is a freelancer in Structured Innovation Management, where he facilitates innovation processes in SMEs in order to identify new solutions (products and/ or business models) for the respective businesses. He is a member of the advisory board of several portfolio companies.
Edward Weiss Ph.D. is an American Sport Psychologist who lives and works in Liechtenstein. He received a B.A. in Geology from Williams College in 1978, an M.S. in Sport Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1984, and a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1992. He teaches courses and workshops in a wide variety of subjects at the University of Liechtenstein. He also works with individuals and athletes and teams in all sports and at all levels.
Dr. Petra Huber (PhD) is an Investment Manager at the Department of Hightech Funding (special focus on start ups) of aws, the Austrian Promotional Bank since 2009. Before she worked for Hewlett-Packard, Kapsch in PreSales and Project Management. Mrs. Huber is product manager for the business planning software tool "Plan4You".
Dr. Bernhard Krusche studied Anthropology and Psychology. After his field work in West Afrika he worked as internal consultant at Mercedes Benz. Over the last 20 years he specialized himself in developing the innovation capabilities of leaders and their organizations. He is one of the co-founders of the Berlin based consulting studio "Ignore Gravity" and publisher of the REVUE - Magazine for the Next Society. He is the author of several books on Leadership and holds lectures at the universities of Klagenfurt and Kassel.
Mag. Gerald Schaufler, M.Sc. is founder and CEO of Vana-Schaufler GmbH, Baden/ Vienna. Main focus of his business activity is financing and controlling. Mag.art Thomas Geisler studied design at the Vienna University of Applied Arts and the Denmark Designskole in Copenhagen. Working as a designer with focus in scenography and communication design he has been partner of the design collective "maupi" since 2000. He also built up an academic career in design history and theory; amongst others he has been researching the life and work of Victor Papanek. He is co-founder of Vienna Design Week and a dedicated member of "Neigungsgruppe Design", Vienna. Since October 2010 he has been working for the MAK as curator for design.
Prof. Dr. Sonja Zillner studied mathematics and psychology and did her PhD-studies in computer science specializing on knowledge management. Since several years she is project leader of technology and innovation projects at the Corporate Technology Siemens AG. She is Professor for Innovation Management at the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship and the author of many patents and publications. Her current research focus lies in knowledge management, innovation management as well as big data technologies.
Klaus Weinmaier is the co-founder of the successful Austrian news portal ´derStandard.at´. He has 20 years of experience in the strategic planning, product development and implementation of large scale digital projects. He broadened his knowledge in the field of digital innovation in the year 2011/12 at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, where he completed a research residency as a Knight Fellowship affiliate. His work there, in the heart of the Silicon Valley, focused on innovation management and new digital strategies. He also trained to become a Design Thinking Coach, a method that combines an innovative process of agile product development with user centered design. After his return to Austria, he founded the Engagement Lab to use his contacts in the innovation scene of Silicon Valley and his many years of experience in the digital sector for new projects.
